Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) was founded in 1904 under Stjepan Radic and Vlatko Macek and represented roughly 80 to 90 percent of the Croatian electorate during the period between World War I and World War II.
Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) was founded by Franjo Tudjman in 1989 originally as a platform-movement-like party but was soon transformed into a nationalist movement.

And, yet, most people who complain about contemporary Hollywood, MTV and rest of American entertainment industry “poisoning” the minds of children and wrecking future generations were exactly the people who grew up watching even more “venomous” material and were supposed to have their moral values shaped according by that “poison”.
Local elections campaign has started and leaders of top Croatian parties are going to increase their public presence, especially in Zagreb which, due to having 4 times more BDP than national average, remains the top prize of that contest.

The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) was backed by 28 percent of 4,000 people questioned, with a significant 10-percent advantage over the ruling center-left coalition's main Social Democratic Party (SDP), the poll showed.
A junior partner in the ruling coalition, the Croatian People's Party, and the opposition Croatian Party of Rights enjoyed the support of eight and five percent of those questioned respectively.
