Crocodile Dundee - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Crocodile Dundee is a 1986 Australian comedy film set in the Australian Outback in the area around "Walkabout Creek" and in New York City.
Released on April 30, 1986 in Australia, and on September 26, 1986 in the United States, it was the second highest grossing film in the USA in that year and went on to become the number one film worldwide at the box office.
In the movie, Dundee drives some sort of mid-1960s-ish International Harvester truck that appears to have had a bus body at one point, that was then removed to make such a vehicle, the IHC emblem is visible on the grille in some shots.

The virtue of the "Crocodile" films is their gentleness, and as an alternative to the assaultive violence of some contemporary films, they encourage kindly feelings.
In the first installment, the "Crocodile" character was still being elucidated, and this, along with the basic incongruity of having this noble primitive -- a modern Leatherstocking -- on the loose in Manhattan, gave the original a pointedness that the sequel lacks.

It is difficult not to be acquainted with the Crocodile Dundee franchise, especially with Paul Hogan in so many commercials for substandard vehicles (even in his advancing years), so it should come as no surprise that the soundtrack is not to be taken with much seriousness.
For the scoring of Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles, Poledouris was given a sum of money just large enough to incorporate fifteen or so minutes of combined orchestral performances in Seattle, and the rest of the material was up to him and his fellow producers to piece together back at his studios in Venice.
