I moved to Crofton Park about a month ago (I'm a five-minute walk from Honor Oak Park and that's the station I use twice a day) and I'm a woman who lives on her own.
No parking restrictions in the side roads is annoying for local residents but rather than be 'precious' about this.
Nothing to do with the railway, but it's true that there is moderate risk of subsidence due to the area being shrinkable clay.

Having established his estate on the east of the railway, Scruby intended to develop on the other side as well, but by the early 1930s he was heavily overlent and did not have the resources to continue.
When he first came to the area the line was there but the nearest stations, at Chislehurst to the north and Orpington to the south, were too far from his proposed development.
