Excellent bowling by Crompton (3 for 27) and Mark Larner (3 for 26) saw the green and golds close out the match, and claim 28 points for their travels.
The club is pleased to announce that it has secured the services of 19 year old Australian, Josh Barrett for the 2007 season.
The club is proud to announce that it is staging the Kwik Cricket Tournament for Primary Schools in Gloucestershire at Northleach for the second year running on Monday 4th June.

  Darwen Cricket Club - History
During the course of the season the club applied for membership of the Lancashire League but, as it was to prove also in their applications over the next 2 seasons, they were rejected.
Cup cricket was again not the highlight of the season, whilst the team tried to remedy previous season attempts.
The club has continued to communicate with the league to object to this decision, as it is not in the league rules.

 Pleasington Golf Club
She was a member of the Club for over 50 years and over a long period was one of Lancashire's most prominent women golfers.
She became the first Lady President of the Club, when that office was created in 1956 - a position she held until her death at the age of 68 in 1972.
To mark his period in office, the Club installed a large clock on one of the gables, looking down the 18th fairway, which unfortunately he did not live to see in place before his death in September 1988.

Crompark Cricket Club was originally formed as the company team of Crompton Parkinson in Guiseley, with the club taking it's name from the first part of each of the two names.
Crompark was one of the founder members of the Dales Council Cricket League back in 1956 and in fact were the league winners during the leagues second year (one of the rare successes !).
The club played next to the firm's premises at Netherfield Road in Guiseley for many years and later in the "Five-lane-ends" area of Idle in Bradford on an artificial wicket before settling at the current site in the grounds of High Royds Hospital at Menston in 1991.

Cricketers' brass belt buckles were patented in 1845, and they became an integral part of cricketing attire over the next twenty years; by the 1870s they had become unfashionable.
On offer as one lot is a collection of six buckles, all with cricketing motifs, reputedly salvaged from the wreck of the Dunbar, which went down with the loss of 121 lives (one man survived) near the entrance to Sydney Harbour in August 1857, at the end of its voyage from England.

As I said, we have been there before, less than a year ago, and I’m sure Ickenham will respond better to the demands of premier League cricket as the season grows, but this was an emphatic start to the league campaign and great credit goes to the bowlers.

The people are nice but teams comprise players who do things other than cricket and look at it more as sport in the actual sense than a serious contest.
I made 40 chasing a modest total of 91, but more importantly, it was the first win of the season for our club.

At the same time, the two teams they lost to narrowly on Saturday came in the top 5 of the 14-team tournament, and the Scots left having made a definite impression, particularly with their performances in the field in difficult, bumpy outfields and in the hot, humid conditions.
Then came the worst aspect of Scottish cricket - assuming the game is over before it is. With a spate of four dropped or missed catches, the last three Australian wickets added 66 to the total, with Corey Boss's 37, added to his later three wickets, brutally wresting the game away from the Scots.
