 Crumrine - Cross Creek Twp.
The township of Cross Creek retained its original territory and limits until May, 1806, when a portion of it was taken to form the township of Mount Pleasant; and in 1853 the township of Jefferson was formed from the western part of Cross Creek, reducing the township to its present limits.
Robert Patterson, of Smith township, presided at that meeting, and the law was adopted by all the townships in the county, with five exceptions.
Cross Creek township was a separate justice's district from its erection in 1790 till the erection of election districts, May 4, 1803, when it became embraced with other territory in District No. 3, and so remained till 1838, when the office of justice became elective, and the township an independent district.

The Pennsylvania Superintendent of Public Instruction, testifying by deposition in the Schempp case, offered his view that daily Bible reading "places upon the children or those hearing the reading of this, and the atmosphere which goes on in the reading.
The record demonstrates that it was the intention of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to introduce a religious ceremony into the public schools of the Commonwealth." 201 F. Supp., at 819.

This project is to provide two federal Clean Water Act training programs in Western Pennsylvania: one for watershed groups in the Lake Erie Watershed and one for groups who have participated in the preparation of a DCNR River Conservation Plan (RCP) in Western Pennsylvania.
By working with local watershed associations to monitor the effects of removing dams that either no longer serve a purpose or those where the costs outweigh the benefits, this group intends to train individuals in the use of a monitoring protocols to help assess the ecological benefits of dam removal on streams.
The intent of this project is to install FGM structures in Shade Creek up-stream of the bridge opening to properly direct stream flow to the center of the channel.
