Cueing is probably the easist of these applications to learn and once you learn it you can apply it to the other applications.
Press the cue assign switch(15) for the channel that has the volume all the way down.
With cueing you can preview a song to make sure that it plays cleanly, find a spot on in the song, or mix the song into the playing song all while another song is playing, thus the party keeps moving.

A "cue sheet" was sort of a cheat sheet for the musical director that would be sent with or ahead of a film to give hints as to what pieces would work with the film at certain cues (starting spots).
It lists the cue to watch for in the film, the title, composer, and publisher of a suggested piece to be played, and many give a few opening measures of the violin part.
Orchestrators did this by "cross cueing," which means that an important musical line in one instrument would be placed, in small "cue" notes, in the parts for other instruments, so that (for instance) in the absence of the oboe, the clarinet or violin could play the oboe's solos.

Cueing involves the use of one or more sensor systems to provide data that directs collection by other systems.
Cueing maximizes the efficient use of finite collection assets in support of multiple, often competing, intelligence collection priorities.
Cueing can also occur dynamically (outside the collection strategy) as one system or echelon tips the other off to an unexpected collection opportunity.

In many cases GMTI information would be the key to cueing when and where to employ smaller field-of-view, but higher resolution sensors, such as those carried by UAVs and U-2s, that are needed to provide positive target identification.
Cueing can increase UAV effectiveness as well by providing targets with less warning time to employ countermeasures like smoke.
And cueing decreases UAV exposure to point air defenses, making UAVs more survivable, by reducing their need to loiter in an area searching for targets.

Specifically, cueing these aircraft on when and where to look for enemy activity can significantly reduce wasted surveillance time.
Cueing can also increase UAVs’ effectiveness since targets have less warning time to employ countermeasures such as smoke.

Auditory thalamus integrates visual inputs into behavioral gains - Nature Neuroscience
Here we find that, in the rat thalamus, visual cues influence auditory responses, which have two distinct components: an early phasic one followed by a late gradual buildup that peaks before reward.
Although both bimodal presentation and reward value had similar effects on behavioral performance, the cross-modal effect on neural activity showed unique temporal dynamics: it affected the amplitude of the early component and starting level of the late component, whereas reward value affected only the slope of the late component.
These results demonstrate that cross-modal cueing modulates gain in the sensory thalamus, potentially providing a priming influence on the choice of an optimal behavior.

The BB is a headstall device for riding, and has a patented configuration, in which rein extensions run through O-rings on the sides of its noseband, then cross over, underneath a horse's jaw, eventually to connect at opposite sides on the crown band (i.e.: the bridle's top strap, which lies behind the ears).
Recently, it was called to our attention that some people, who were among the early users and advocates of the BB, won't use it anymore in its patented configuration, believing that the crossed straps result in confusing "cross cues" for the horse.
As a result of these reports, here at Rancho Ontlaunee, our editor, John Brian, recently conducted a few simple experiments, both with and without our two horses, the results of which appear to support the reports of a cross cueing problem.

In these experiments it was found that cross-cueing leads to collaborative inhibition.
According to Basden and Basden (1997) collaborative inhibition like part-list cueing is produced by a disruption of individual retrieval strategies.
From this explanation the question arises whether this disruption of retrieval strategy will also occur in the case of self-cueing instead of cross-cueing and which ideas are best for cueing in both of these settings.
