	Cuckoo family
		The Hoatzin aside (which has a separate page on this web site), the only question is how many families to create out of the diversity in the Cuculiformes.
		Sibley and Monroe (1990), followed by Clements (1991), settled on five families: the Old World cuckoos (Cuculidae) in which they included the malkohas and couas; the coucals (Centropodidae); the American cuckoos (Coccyzidae); the roadrunners and ground-cuckoos (Neomorphidae); and the anis and Guira Cuckoo (Crotophagidae).
		The second grouping (subfamily in this arrangement) of New World cuckoos are the anis and allies (Sibley and Monroe's "Crotophagidae").

		Velásquesz y Obando, (1 993), realizaron el siguiente trabajo de investigación: "Aspectos Biológicos de las aves playeras de las Lagunas de oxidación de Cachiche, Ica" durante los meses Febrero de 1 991 hasta Agosto de 1 992, reportando las siguientes familias: RALLIDAE, ARDEI-DAE, ANAIIDAE, CHARADRIIDAE, SCOLOPACIDAE, PODICIPEDIDAE, COLUMBIDAE, TYRANNIDAE, MHIRUNDINIDAE, LARIDAE, APODIDAE, STURNIDAE, CROTOPHAGIDAE, STRIGIDAE.
		ARENALES MARINOS.- Zona arenosa de una extensión bastante grande que separa a los espejos de agua del humedal (continental) y del mar litoral, sirviendo este en su mayoría como zona de descanso para las aves de los siguientes familias: CHARADRIIDAE, LARIDAE, PELEICANIDAE, THRESKIAORNITHIDAE, SCOLOPA-CIDAE, PHALACROCORACIDAE, CATHARTIDAE, SULIDAE, HAEMATOPODIDAE.
		CAMPOS DE CULTIVOS.- Esta es una antropocenosis donde se encontró cultivos de Gossypuim sp, sZea maíiz etc. eEn ellos se encontraron especies, las cuales la agrupamos en las siguientes familias: HIRUNDINIDAE, FRINGILLIDAE, APODIDAE, TYRANNIDAE, STURNI-DAE, EMBERIZIDAE, ICTERIDAE, CROTOPHAGIDAE, COLUMBIDAE, STRIGIDAE.
