Crowded House - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Crowded House was a pop-rock group formed in Australia and led by New Zealand musician Neil Finn.
Crowded House is currently soliciting fans for photos from this show, to use as material for a DVD/CD release of the concert, expected to come out in honor of the show's 10th anniversary in 2006.
Crowded House frequently performed a version of the Hunters and Collectors' "Throw Your Arms Around Me" during their live sets and recorded a version of the Zombies' "She's not there" in 1990.

Crowded House formed in 1985 when Neil Finn dissolved Split Enz rather than carry on after his brother Tim, the group's founding member, left to pursue a solo career.
Crowded House's third album, Woodface, released in the summer of 1991, proved the decision to combine the material from the two scrapped records was sound -- the album certainly represents their finest recorded moments.
In early 1993, Crowded House regrouped to record their fourth album, adding American guitarist Mark Hart (who had briefly toured with the band around the time of Temple of Low Men) to the band and dropping Mitchell Froom as their producer, opting instead for ex-Killing Joke member Youth.

 Crowded House Album Reviews
Crowded House (Capitol ‘86) Rating: B+ After dissolving Split Enz, a successful New Zealand new wave band formed with his older brother Tim, Neil Finn returned with this trio (so named due to their cramped living quarters) and an enjoyable debut album.
Of course, as with all Crowded House albums it is Finn who dominates, and though this album isn't his finest moment from a songwriting standpoint, it doesn’t deserve its status as the forgotten Crowded House album.
Afterglow (Capitol ‘99) Rating: B+ Given that Crowded House only have four fine albums, their Recurring Dream: The Very Best Of Crowded House (1996) compilation wasn't really all that useful, though it did have three previously unreleased tracks ("Not The Girl You Think You Are," "Instinct," and "Everything Is Good For You").

Neil's brother, Tim, joined Crowded House on this album and not only does their partnership shine on the song writing level but even more in the harmonizing on many songs, Tim complementing Neil very successfully on many tracks.
I have heard few albums with so many solid songs in my lifetime and is of Crowded House's two lighter sounding albums, their first self titled album being the other one, much better, despite of the inclusion of Don't Dream It's Over on the first one (which is available on their Recurring Dream compilation).
Mitchell Froom, long time collaborator and producer of Crowded House took his final bow with the band on this album and left a legacy of one of the finest pop albums ever recorded.

Crowded House, the group New Zealand songwriter/singer/guitarist Neil Finn formed (with bassist Nick Seymour, who happens to be the brother of Hunters and Collectors leader Mark Seymour) after Split Enz, followed the trend toward simplification of that band's later albums.
Together Alone would prove to be Crowded House’s last album of new material, as Neil Finn began a solo career while continuing to collaborate, off-and-on, with his brother.
Recurring Dream summarizes the Crowded House oeuvre in a splendid 19-track single disc version offering two new songs, the relatively slight “Everything Is Good for You” and the minor-key “Not the Girl You Think You Are.” The album also exists as a double disc containing a 15-song live set that showcases the band’s on-stage rapport.

An institution in their homeland, a two-hit wonder in the U.S., and, during the last half of their ten-year career, bona fide stars in the U.K. and most of Europe, Crowded House recorded some of the best pop music of the late '80s and early '90s.
Although the choice of "Chocolate Cake" as a leadoff single was both misleading and off-putting to American audiences, effectively sinking the album's chances of success in the U.S., England and Europe embraced the band for the first time.
That same month, Recurring Dream: The Very Best of Crowded House was released, entering the U.K. and Australian charts at number one.

 Sewin Chan. . . : Crowded House
Although second mortgages, home equity credit lines, and reverse mortgages can all be used to tap into their housing equity, converting it into consumption, many older households are reluctant to assume any new debt at this point in their lives, and are reluctant to enter into what seems like a complicated financial transaction.
2 In a housing partnership, a house-buying household (the "managing partner") is matched with outside investors ("limited partners") who supply up front equity toward the purchase of the house.
What will make housing partnerships a reality is the fact that the second half of a house is worth more to an outside investor than it is worth to the household; that is, there are large "gains from trade" that could be exploited through housing partnerships.
