An EdF spokeswoman said the plant along the Rhone river was not in danger of flooding but that it might have to shut its two other 900 MW reactors due to the debris in the river that has blocked the intake of water used to cool the reactors.
She added the restart of the reactors 3 and 4 would also depend on the state of the river, which she said EdF was monitoring closely.
By late Tuesday, an EdF spokesman at the Cruas plant said there had been no change in the situation, and only reactors 3 and 4 remained shut.
