  Cryptopsy - Percussive Death Metal
For Cryptopsy innovation comes in the development of an acerbic almost technical style while retaining the brutal classic death metal foundation that makes this music scary to outsiders, leaving composition at a level some generations behind for the state of death metal at the time of this release.
Review: Cryptopsy work in the ambiguous areas between death metal and grindcore with their rhythmic and harmonic work, much in the way "Legion" from Deicide or "Mortal Throne of Nazarene" from Incantation took the anti-tone progressive nature of complex composition and enhanced it into dangerously anti-musical yet lucid death metal.
Cryptopsy investigate counter-rhythms in strum and the use of melody and dissonance to enhance otherwise straight heavy metal powre chord combinations.

BACK TO THE WORMS! New Cryptopsy demo
Usually the fans give the benefit of the doubt to the vocalist whom was featured on the bands best material, wich may or may not have anything to do with the over all talent of the vocalists.
Former Cryptopsy vocalist Mike Disalvo featured the barking, almost clean, "hardcore" style vocals, wich are weak compared to the standard, gutteral, death metal vocal style.
Disalvo's vocals were featured on such critically aclaimed Cryptopsy releases as Whisper Supremacy, and also on..And Then You'll Beg..Disalvo left Cryptopsy in 2002 to be replaced by Martin Lacroix (ex Spasme vocalist) and then shortly there after, Lord Worm returned to the band.

THE METAL OBSERVER - Review - CRYPTOPSY - Whisper Supremacy
CRYPTOPSY dug themselves a rather deep hole with the release of “None So Vile”.
The drumming keeps getting better (you’d think that the drumming you hear on record from these guys is probably just studio trickery, but the man pulls it off live!), sounding almost like he’s coming up with riffs with his drumming, adding another element of chaos to their already psychotic music.
Unfortunately, this is achieved to the detriment of the bass sound, which is a tragedy, because CRYPTOPSY is blessed with one of the most talented bassists in Metal.
