CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP -- At last month's Crystal Township meeting, Rena Rae came forward with a petition supporting Montcalm County police coverage in the township.
Rae, a member of the Township Police Committee, had only positive things to say about the job county police were doing and she brought the signatures of citizens to back her up.
While township resident Ted Padget called the county police coverage "mediocre," he said now was not the time for the township board to hire its own officers.
