The author has a strange hate for fellow webcomic Ctrl+Alt+Del, and there is an entire page on the Bigger Than Cheeses website dedicated to discussing why BTC is better than Ctrl+Alt+Del.
The unusual name of the comic comes from the fact that, when said aloud (Especially with a British accent), it sounds like "Bigger than Jesus," which is both a John Lennon misquote and amusing blasphemy.
Along with every webcomic, the author also publishes a short commentary, and throws in an IRC log that he always thinks is funny.
