He praised Gov. Ryan's courage for coming to Cuba before a large audience at the University of Havana, where the governor was awarded an honorary degree.
While much of the public rhetoric from Illinois delegation and the Cubans centered around ending the embargo, the trip's official purpose was a humanitarian one.
