Gordon Bell has a great way of drawing dogs...cats...any animal or monster in a cute way.....my favourite of his is Spoofer Mcgraw, it is so clever and original.
He has also stood in for periods of time when an artists retires, on holiday, for annuals, or artist has moved on e.g Bash Street kids...Roger the Dodger...Korky the cat...Cuddles and Dimple's etc...

The characters I recall writing for are: Desperate Dan, Corporal Clot, (I modelled my own military career on this character), Dennis the Menace, Minnie the Minx, The Three Bears, Roger the Dodger, Brassneck, Willy Winker, Lord Snooty, Bash Street Kids, Little Plum, Mickey the Mouth, Bully Beef & Chips, Cuddles and Dimples.
On top of this, I was also contributing to the Dandy & Beano Comic Library.
These fellas are just so gosh darn fun to cheer for.
This is gonna sound very uncool, but I have to go shopping so bad and I just cannot find a time when I would not rather be sitting at home watching Cuddlesdimples appear after a clutch hit or the Doctor letting a smile shine through when he hears chants of MVP.
With a day game today, perhaps I can get something done tonight!!
