Hungarian cuisine is known all over the world, but there is much more to our cooking than goulash soup and a generous sprinkling of paprika.
Hungary has 22 designated wine regions, and they all have something to interest not just the visiting vinophile, but anyone who appreciates fine scenery and wants to discover Hungary first hand.
And because Hungary is a fairly small country, you can easily take in several winemaking towns in the course of a week, either by travelling around or making day trips from Budapest.

In 1990, George Lang returned to Hungary to purchase, with his partner Ronald Lauder, the legendary Gundel restaurant in Budapest, which has became a glorious symbol of Hungary's resurrection.
As a writer, Lang published a number of prize-winning books including "The cuisine of Hungary," "Compendium of Culinary Nonsense" (with Milton Glaser and William Safire), and "The Café des Artistes Cookbook." Lang's memoir, " Nobody Knows the Truffles I've seen," was published in March 1998.
