Culebra is an archipelago consisting of the main island and twenty-three smaller islands that lie off its coast.
Culebra's airport is served by Air Culebra from San Juan's Luis Muñoz Marín and Fernando Ribas Dominicci (Isla Grande) Airports.
Culebra is also a popular destination for scuba divers because of the many reefs throughout the archipelago and the crystal clear waters.

The strategic position of the island, its healthiness and its continued use as a naval station have given it considerable importance.

This was the last chance I was giving myself to win a Culebra climb by the lottery system before judging the peak inaccessible and moving on to finish the 14ers with a final climb of Capitol Peak.
