 THE CULTUS AND ITS EMOTIONAL
One of the chief attractions of the cultus is that it belongs to the group, and often to the ages that have gone before.
The hold of an unconscious cultus may be so great that the participants cannot conceive of any other possible situation which would meet the requirements of what they have come to feel is their ideal situation for living.
It becomes clear that a new religious cultus cannot be developed as the passing cultus was, through decades and centuries of accumulation of symbolism undisturbed by radically crucial disruptions from within the culture or from without.

A defining feature of the Cultus is its specialised use of the mythos of the medieval and early modern European Witches' Sabbath as the basis and idiom for its rituals and practices.
