		Cumberland, in Cobb County, is primed for a $65 million transformation set to begin in December.
		Some older malls may get sections that look like the "avenue" outdoor centers that have become popular in metro Atlanta, with all the attendant landscaping and exterior access to more stores and restaurants.
		The mall, last renovated in 1999, will be expanded by 77,000 square feet for restaurants, new national retailers and specialty stores.

	PREIT Brings Cumberland Mall into the Fold for $60M
		PREIT agreed to purchase the 925,000-square-foot mall from Cumberland Mall Associates, a partnership led by PREIT chairman Ronald Rubin and vice chairman George Rubin for $60 million.
		The outparcel will help PREIT in efforts to upgrade the tenancy of the mall, said Joseph Coradino, president of PREIT Services L.L.C. "The market has some good prospects for growth," said Coradino, noting that the trade area is home to many of the Atlantic City casino employees.
		Cumberland Mall is 98.8 percent occupied, according to PREIT.
