Other fl and white prints that appeared in the book entitled "OLD KILSYTH" compiled by W D Chalmers and Published by Stenlake Ayrshire.
In all there are 1701 colour prints depicting the old Stirlingshire town of KILSYTH, CUMBERNAULD NEW TOWN, the villages of BANTON, CASTLECARY, CONDORRAT, CROY, CUMBERNAULD, KELVINHEAD, QUEENZIEBURN, TWECHAR.
The number of fl and white prints are 1952 depicting Kilsyth faces and places, Cumbernauld, Queenzieburn, Banton, Twecher, Croy, Auchinstarry, Kelvinhead, Bonny Bridge, High Banton,Carron Bridge, Kirk O' Mair, Craigmarloch, included in this is a look back at some of the clothing styles that our victorian ancesters wore.

Complete details of the town's history can be found in 'The History of Cumbernauld and Kilsyth from Earliest Times' published by the Cumbernauld Historical Society and available from the Cumbernauld Town Centre Library.
With the Flemings' decision to build their castle and make Cumbernauld their principal seat, the place would assume its present form which is the classical layout of a medieval Scottish town, with its principal street running from castle to church.
Like Cumbernauld, it was a weaving community and there still exists a number of late 18th and early 19th century, single-storey, weavers' houses such as those in the row known as Braehead Cottages.

Cumbernauld & Kilsyth was created in 1983 with 79 % of its voters coming from East Dunbartonshire and 21% from West Stirlingshire.
When the results were counted in Cumbernauld & Kilsyth, there had been a swing of 8.5 % to the SNP with Cathie Craigie being elected with a majority of 4,259 over the SNP's Andrew Wilson, who won a seat as an SNP Central Scotland MSP.
Cathie Craigie was born in Stirling in 1954 and educated at Kilsyth Academy.

Cumbernauld Housing Partnership paid £5 million for the houses, and will invest an average of £29,000 in investments and repairs to each one over the next 30 years.
MSP for Cumbernauld and Kilsyth, Cathie Craigie said she was “delighted” that the transfer of homes in the Cumbernauld area had finally taken place.
Cumbernauld Housing Partnership have pledged to work closely with the Cumbernauld Home Owners Association and North Lanarkshire Council to assist in the process of encouraging owner occupiers to participate in related programmes of common repairs, which are seen as critical to the regeneration of Cumbernauld.

Kilsyth Community Council is developing a tourism strategy for the area with the aim of attracting more visitors to Kilsyth, boost the local economy and improve the commercial viability of the town centre.
