The central attraction in Cunderdin is the museum with its huge displays of farm equipment (surely the best in Australia) which encompasses the history of wheat harvesting, the history of tractors, and includes such unusual items as an iron tyre shrinker which was used for wagons, drays, spring carts and sulkies.
23 km west of Cunderdin is the tiny settlement of Meckering which, at 10.59 am on 14 October 1968, was struck by an earthquake which measured 6.8 on the richter scale.
It was one of the worst in Australia's history splitting the countryside with a deep gash which can still be seen (it is marked by a sign which says 'Earthquake Fault Line') about 4 km west of the town on the Great Eastern Highway.

 Cunderdin Airfield, WA during WW2
This group of twelve WW2 buildings are under threat of demolition by the Shire of Cunderdin who wanted three demolished by March 1996 to construct an Indonesian flying training school.
Cunderdin Airfield was used for flying training as No. 9 Elementary Flying Training School 1941-1944.
The survival of such a group in such numbers appears to be unequalled within Australia.

The town of Cunderdin lies at the foot of Cunderdin Hill and was named by the explorer Charles Hunt in June, 1864.
The original pumping machinery can be seen in the old pumping station, built in 1902, which now hosts the Cunderdin Museum which also has the best and most extensive display of farm machinery anywhere in Australia.
The Cunderdin Agricultural College is three km's north of the town and has approximately 110 students supported by 50 staff and their families.

He attended flying schools at Cunderdin, Western Australia, and Mallala, South Australia, before embarking for the United Kingdom in January 1943.
After advanced training in England, Miller was finally posted to No. 169 Squadron RAF, equipped with DH Mosquitos, and flew in support of Allied operations over Europe during April and May 1945.
By the time he retired a decade later he had played 55 times for Australia, scoring 2,958 runs at an average of 36.97, and taking 170 wickets for an average of 22.97 runs.

A wheat-belt town on the Great Eastern Highway about 157km east of Perth, Cunderin lies in the lush Avon Valley and harbours one of the pumping stations that move water along the quite extraordinary Goldfields Water Scheme pipeline all the way from near Perth out to Kalgoorlie.
About 25km from Cunderdin, near Merredin, you can still see the scar left on the earth by one of Australia’s biggest earthquakes which took place in 1968 measuring 6.8 on the Richter Scale.
