  Ship Technology - Safmarine Cunene Container Ship
Originally launched the ER Brememrhaven, it is owned by the Hamburg-based company ER Schiffart but renamed the Safmarine Cunene due to operator contracts with the Safemarine of South Africa.
It is a double hulled vessel - the width of the double skin is 2.23m at the side and 1.49m at the bottom.
The Safmarine Cunene can carry containers with lengths of 20ft, 40ft, 45ft and 48ft and heights of 8ft to 9ft 6in.

The Cunene River forms a section of border between Namibia to the south and Angola in the north, Our first sight of the Cunene was at Ruacana, just below Ruacana falls, which dribbled rather than cascaded, because of a series of man-made weirs and walls that stem the water.
The Cunene River rafting trip is not well suited to complete novices, although sometimes the less you know, the better you cope.
The Cunene rapids are to be taken seriously and we got out and scouted each one before attempting it.

After surviving drought, war, genocide and other disasters, the most serious threat to the existence of the Himba is the proposed Epupa Falls Dam which the Namibian government says will produce around 200 megawatts of power for Namibians inland - but will destroy the Himba way-of-life in the process.
Although funding for the scheme, estimated at N$2.67 billion, is not yet in place, the Namibian government seems doggedly intent on building this scheme.
As pastoral herders, the Himba have grazed cattle and cultivated crops along the Cunene River Vallery for hundreds of years.
