At Banh Cuon Tay Ho No. 4 in Westminster, the Little Saigon institution is the obvious place to tuck into the chewy packets of goodness.
We hastily ordered the Banh Cuon Dac Biet ($6), which arrived just minutes later and turned out to be banh cuon with the works: rolls stuffed with steamed shrimp, sautéed minced pork and mushrooms topped with the lua and crispy bundles of fried sweet potato and shrimp.
My other banh cuon and banh uot eating strategy is something I've practiced ever since I was a little kid: Ration your six or seven slices of lua and the heap of crispy scallions so that you have enough to eat with every bite of the gooey rice-flour sheets.
