However, the other two northbound lanes on Allen Road at Sheppard Avenue cannot accommodate all of the remaining northbound traffic, even though HOV’s are now allowed in the curb lane.
After the Dufferin Street/Hydro Corridor option was identified as the preferred routing, a thorough comparison was made of the two potential design options for Allen Road-Dufferin Street: i) bus-only lanes in the middle of the road, or “centre-median” design, and ii) a design with bus-only lanes in the curb lane, shared with right-turning motorists.
From a transit operations perspective, it would be better if the northbound curb bus-only lane on Allen Road were to begin at the new bus driveway to/from Downsview Station, with only right turns permitted to share the lane.

Bergeron also pointed out that the temporary curb cut is the historic location of a previous curb cut that was used to gain access to the property back in the 1970’s for logging purposes.
Once the curb cut was installed and completed, however, it was determined that the logging trucks could not get their trucks on the property through that permanent curb cut.

The slope of the curb ramp is compounded by the slope of the sidewalk; and

Curb Rights: Eliciting Competition and Entrepreneurship in Urban Transit
When we speak of "curb zones" or "curb rights," it should be understood that we mean not only the curb, but also adjoining space on the sidewalk and road- in other words, a complete bus stop.
It might be said, however, that the curb rights proposal suffers from public choice pitfalls in comparison to a plan of the full privatization, not only of curb zones and bus stops, but the entire system of streets and sidewalks.
The holder of the curb rights should be encouraged to monitor the "property." Violations of the rights should be treated as a private torts as well as a municipal violation.

Contruction and Makeup of Roman Roads
The topmost surface, or metalling, of the road varies; and most roads were defined by curb stones on each side (Adam 277).
In closing, it is most important to remember that the ancient Roman road consists of three layers: a bottom foundation layer, often of stone; a middle layer of somewhat softer material (such as sand or gravel); and a surface, or “metalling,” usually a gravel, sometimes paving stones.
Chevallier also quotes Broise in the discussion of road surfaces, saying that there are places where the excavated road is found to be a series of layers of gravel as thick as a meter, the result of numerous resurfacings (87).

Hockey Trade Rumors - Road hockey opponents missing the point
This is where road hockey fits in: as one of the last bastions of Canadian culture, it should be kept and nurtured because it is so dear to Canada and is one of the last definitive Canadian cultural item, not "kicked to the curb" for utillitarin purposes.
Even so, road hockey is rarely ever played on main roads where all the traffic is located (if at all), and all the housing neighbourhoods it is played on people usually don't drive on anyway unless they're getting out of their driveway.
According to some road hockey supporters, it is a great way to expend energy and exercise, and, without it, according to Paul Doherty in his letter, Canadians would turn into "big, fat, lazy good-for-nothing slobs", and wrote both in opening and closing "I am Canadian!".
