Even make up some names of coins that were never used by the actual inhabitants of America.
Throw in some animals that are only in the Americas post-Columbus and make up some funny names of non-existent animals too, like Cureloms.
Make sure you plagiarize from more than one section of the Bible, and from various other sources, so that your claim that many ancient authors contributed to the book can later be trumpeted by apologists.

  Curelom
A curelom is an animal mentioned, together with the cumom, in the text of the Book of Mormon:
Ether 9:19 - And they also had horses, and asses, and there were elephants and cureloms and cumoms; all of which were useful unto man, and more especially the elephants and cureloms and cumoms.
Mormons believe that Joseph Smith was given the Nephite derivatives "curelom" and "cumom" rather than some other word variant referring to these animals in his supposed translation of this passage from the Reformed Egyptian.

 Curelom Information
And they also had horses, and asses, and there were elephants and cureloms and cumoms; all of which were useful unto man, and more especially the elephants and cureloms and cumoms.
In this line of thinking, the words curelom and cumom were transliterated instead of translated, meaning that while the ancient word is roughly transmitted, the actual animal intended is ambiguous.
Early Mormon apostle Orson Pratt identified cureloms as mammoths in the Journal of Discourses (12:339-340).

"And they also had horses, and asses, and there were elephants, and cureloms, and cumoms; all of which were useful unto man, and more especially the elephants, and cureloms, and cumoms" (Ether 9:19).
Now we know that cureloms are VERY HUGE ANIMALS.
I want to bear you my testimony that I know all this is true, and we are so blessed to have the scriptures and the Journal of Discourses to tell us about cureloms.

Together with "neas and sheum" of Mosiah 9:9 and "cureloms and cumoms" of Ether 9:19, we have some very convincing examples of what are technically known as hapax legomena.
Perhaps Joseph’s mode of translation keyed on the edibility of the catalog, and the curelom and cumom are useful (“more especially useful” is the text’s term) but not for food.

And all the racers did whip their beasts of burden, and the deer and tapirs, and cureloms, and cumoms did move quickly from their starting line, and run down the race track.
And my sword did strike the curelom with the bad temperament, even did it strike the curelom in the face, and the curelom did fall, which did cause the Nephite chariot to flip sideways, and slide across the track, even with the Nephite inside.

There are PhDs who believe the earth is 6000 years old because NOT believing in a young earth would destroy the fundamental basis for their worldview.  It would threaten their psychological stability; they would have to build a completely new worldview from scratch.  For many people, this proposition is too terrifying to consider.
It seems that these fellows are guilty of lies, obfuscation, half-truths, revisionist history, and moral relativism ("the ends justify the means"), and that they are comparable to suicide bombers.
Fortunately, the problem of defamation of character, which Mighty Curelom says is so characteristic of Mormon responses to ex-Mormons, never goes the other way.

Note: The Book of Ether (2000 B.C.) covers the oldest migration to the Americas and because of this relics from this nation will be by default the most decayed and obscured… yet some of their past still shows forth.
Also the Book of Mormon makes no claim for the newer migrations like the Nephites (600B.C.) having any elephants… they very well could have been already made extinct by the Jaradite civil war before the Nephites came upon the scene.
