Some well known coasters of theirs include the Lake Compounce's Golden Ticket Award Winning Boulder Dash, Knott's Berry Farm's GhostRider, Michigan's Adventure's Shivering Timbers, and Geauga Lake's The Villain.
Holiday World's The Raven and The Legend have been considered the best wooden coasters on the planet, and Parc Asterix's Tonnerre de Zeus is considered by many as the best in Europe.

 Twisted Twins - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Twisted Twins is a wooden roller coaster at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky.
This is a custom designed roller coaster that designed as twin racing trains; the two trains are nicknamed Lola and Stella.
The ride was originally named Twisted Sisters from 1998 to 2001, but was changed when members of the heavy metal band Twisted Sister threatened to sue.

This new area of the park which had so recently given birth to two coasters over such a short period of time was quickly dubbed "roller coaster alley" (hey, we like the sound of that!) and for very good reasons.
This monstrosity is a tasty treat all on its own...the coaster is just straining the wood, and you can hear the riders shriek in delight as their bodies are thrown mercilessly back and forth.

This season, 34 new coasters are scheduled to open around the country and 33 others at parks worldwide -- the highest number introduced in any single year since the late 1920s.

The roller coaster was built in the Gardens of Oreinbaum in St. Petersburg in an amusement center called Katalnaya Gorka in the year 1784.
These first coasters were locked on to the track by a wheel axis projecting into grooves on the track.
The roller coaster soon lost its appeal to the French, but just when it was about to die out a "gravity rail road", which is the same thing as a roller coaster, was unveiled by a mining company in the mountains of Pennsylvania.

Larrick's company, Custom Coasters International in Union Township, has designed and built 22 wooden roller coasters in the United States, Spain and France.
The $1 million-plus roller coasters built by Custom Coasters International are made in Union Township, then shipped to amusement parks, where they are assembled.
Larrick said Twisted Sisters will have a steel structure and steel-laminated wood tracks and is one of four roller coasters her company is building this year.

Roller coaster fans mark the advent of a corkscrew-shaped ride in 1975 and a perfected, tear-drop-shaped loop in 1976 with the same passion as historians mark the Renaissance.
As the roller coaster is pulled up its first hill by the lift chain, there are safety devices that click into a set of metal dogs (or stairs) on either side of the chain to prevent the coaster from rolling backward should the chain stop.
And after the coaster has completed its ride and is headed into the station, a series of brakes, operated by compressed air and complete with backups, slows the coaster and brings it to a stop so that riders can get off.

This past fall Custom Coasters returned to Indiana Beach to build a second wooden coaster for the park.

Sky Princess is often thought of as a 'family' coaster and it may indeed be a bit on the tame side, but it's still very high in the fun factor.

As the construction progressed the skyline of the park changed drastically, and Timber Terror was born.
Timber Terror stands at a mere 85 feet so it's definatly isn't a coaster that coaster fanatics would call thrilling at first glance, but after riding it there's just something that makes them want to ride it over and over again.
