		He was Cutler's senior harbormaster last year when lobstermen Dale and Michael Griffin applied for permits to moor their lobster boats in the town harbor.

		The State of Maine has the distinction of being the only state in the U.S. where Atlantic Puffins nest and breed on some of the offshore islands along its coast.
		Machias Seal Island is off the Downeast coast of Maine and there is a stable summer population of between 6,000 & 7,000 puffins, 3,500 terns (Arctic and Common) and numerous common murres and razorbills.
		The cruise left Cutler Harbor with the day's participants (I think there were 17 of us) from various parts of the U.S. who had come to see the puffins.
