Two young children from Sipalay City, passengers of the M/L Susan that sank near Cuyo, Palawan on Friday, died while on a life raft before rescuers could get to them, and their decomposing bodies had to be thrown into the sea, the Coast Guard reported yesterday.
Robles said the children's mother, Fedelina who survived the ordeal, told him that they had to throw the bodies of her two young children into the sea because they were beginning to smell.
Fedelina was among the 13 rescued and brought to the Cuyo District Hospital for treatment yesterday.

 Diving around the Tubbataha Reefs in the Sulu Sea, Palawan, Philippines (Zubi)
Out in the Sulu Sea are several small islands and atolls (for example the Tubbataha reefs) that can only be reached by liveaboard vessels but which offer excellent wall dives, sharks, mantas and lots of fish.
I didn't dive when staying on the mainland but I heard there is some nice diving in Honda Bay (Dos Palmas), Fondeado island near Castillo point, the Panglima reef near Pasco point and Table head reef which lies south of Puerto Princesa.

He said residents of Sipalay City and the towns of Cauayan and Hinobaan in southern Negros Occidental told him that their loved ones were on board the vessel.

 The best of the islands
Check ferry schedules leaving San Jose for Cuyo, Araceli (Dumaran Island), Roxas (Palawan), Puerto Princesa (usually every second Mon.) as this is often disrupted and the ferry frequently runs a day or more late.
These crossings are slower than the ferry but allow more time in small island communities.
It's best just to go to San Jose when you're ready, and if the ferry isn't about to leave, look for a cargo/passenger launch crossing to Cuyo or the Palawan mainland.
