CAL's structure is composed of leagues which make up the whole, each league is further sub-divided into smaller sections called 'divisions' each division of a game is geared towards a specific set of team and individual player skills.
CAL is the free and amateur division of the Cyberathlete Professional League.
The CAL competitions are used by the CPL as a supporter for the seeding, as a qualifier for the main CPL events and as a way to maintain year-long competitions for the fans.

In situations where a sixth player is either removed from the league by the league itself or by act of team management or the player him/herself then the team will be immediately made inactive until a sixth player can be rostered.
CAL is not responsible for individuals connectivity problems, however if proof of an alteration of connectivity by outside sources, for example packeting, is shown, the rounds may be replayed.

All those participating in CAL must be aware of these rules and at no time will any ignorance of the rules be a defense against violating them.
Because CAL is a predominantly US league, matches must be played on servers located in the United States, and in the conference of the teams playing.
Note: Though neither CAL nor the opposing team is responsible for player drops, should a player’s connectivity issue be proven to be caused intentionally (through packeting, etc.), a dispute should be filed and the rounds may be replayed at the discretion of an admin.
