Topic: Cyclic mass

Mass spectrometry of natural cyclic fatty acids
Mass spectra of methyl esters of cyclopropyl fatty acids are not very informative and the latter appear to rearrange under electron bombardment in the mass spectrometer to give a double bond.
The corresponding ions in the mass spectrum of the malvalate derivative are all 14 amu lower.
Mass spectra of pyrrolidides and DMOX derivatives also exhibit the gap of 91 amu between the molecular ion and the next abundant ion in the high mass region, although the ion at m/z = 91 is not as marked.

Guillaume de Machaut - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Machaut was probably born and educated in the region around Rheims (his surname most likely derives from his birthplace, the town of Machault, 30 km to the east of Rheims in the Ardennes region).
Machaut's cyclic setting of the Mass, his Messe de Nostre Dame (Mass of Our Lady), was probably composed for Reims Cathedral in the early 1360s.
While not the first cyclic mass—the Tournai Mass is earlier—it was the first by a single composer and conceived as a unit.

Consider that lean body mass correlates positively with the performance of an incremental treadmill exercise test and that the fat percentage in the abdomen is significantly less in elite athletes in comparison with non-exercising controls.
Aging itself diminishes lean body mass, but the elderly are also prone to develop conditions that either further deplete lean body mass and/or their bodies are deteriorated by an excess of body fat over the lean body mass.
By facilitating hormonal action, cyclic AMP may regulate the body's thermogenic response to food, increase the body's basic metabolic rate, and increase utilization of body fat (since thermogenesis is preferentially fueled by fatty acids derived from body fat and/or food).

 LUXON THEORY - E=mc 2
Mass and energy are inseparably linked to each other, because both of them have the luxon momentum as the base of their definition.
Mass cannot be converted to energy and energy cannot be converted to mass.
During an atom bomb explosion a certain part of the rest mass of the uranium is converted to pure movement mass (the mass of the luxons), or, a part of the rest energy is converted to movement energy (the energy of luxons).

 Musical Forms - Mass
Dufay used both sacred and secular melodies as the basis for his masses, and in the period of Ockeghem and his contemporaries (circa 1460-90) the chanson was increasingly used as a source of tenor melodies around which an often very intricate contrapuntal web was woven.
Masses based on motets, chansons or madrigals were written by most late Renaissance composers, including Palestrina, Victoria, Lassus and Morales; freely invented masses were also composed.
Liszt's for the coronation of Emperor Franz Joseph as King of Hungary (1867) and Bruckner's f Minor Mass (1867-8), commissioned by the Viennese chapel royal, are outstanding examples of large-scale settings; and it is significant that the greatest 20th-century mass, that by Stravinsky (1948), has been most often performed in the concert hall.

Cyclic changes in pain and size of the mass with menses was elicited in only two of these patients, but this may be from a lack of awareness and questioning on the part of the physician.
In instances where the diagnosis was incorrect, the history of cyclic pain was not elicited, which may be secondary to lack of awareness.
The presence of cyclic pain in an incisional mass associated with a cesarean section scar is almost pathognomonic for the condition.

Busnois' mass was held in great esteem in the renaissance: it was quoted and discussed by theorists of the time, and the composer Jacob Obrecht borrowed the tenor, verbatim and in its entirety, for his own L'homme armé mass.
The four-voice mass, from which the Sanctus performed tonight was drawn, is distinguished by the use of the phrygian mode, unusual for the L'homme armé melody.

Calculator for Determining the Resonance Frequency of Compression Springs
Resonance is an issue for springs used in a dynamic cyclic loading environment, where the compressive force varies between two values.
In light of this, a rule of thumb for spring design is to make sure the frequency of operation is 15 to 20 times less than the first resonant frequency of the spring in question.
If you do not know the mass of the spring, you can calculate it by multiplying the density of the spring material times the volume of the spring.

 ARSIS: Catalog: CD118
The most demanding compositional genre at this time was the polyphonic cyclic Mass, and by the end of the fifteenth century it had become the genre in which composers displayed their most serious thought.
The Mass is scored for four voices; in a few places, however, Dufay uses only three voices and drops the cantus firmus, and these passages are sung by a smaller ensemble on this recording.
The Mass was likely performed on a particular day in the Advent season, the Wednesday of the Ember days, when the Annunciation dialogue between the Angel Gabriel and Mary was read.

With nearly twice the energy of normal, bent-shaped ozone (O3), cyclic ozone could hold the key component for a future manned-mission to Mars.
Levis points out that the successful production of cyclic ozone could play an important role in putting a human on Mars because rockets could be able to carry one-third more payload.
Because cyclic ozone has never before been characterized, Levis and the Temple researchers-Dmitri Romanov of physics and Spiridoula Matsika of chemistry-are relying exclusively on an evolutionary search strategy theory to help them synthesize the molecule using ultrafast lasers.

 English Renaissance Masters
Fayrfax is particularly important for his cultivation of the cyclic mass, including six masses.
When Mary was on the throne he praised her as the "restorer of the true faith." His sumptuous seven-voice mass Puer natus est nobis was most likely composed during Mary's reign (1553-1558) for the combined English and Spanish royal chapels during Philip II's residence in London.
Two other masses are extant: a five-voice unnamed setting in duple time with short triple-meter interpolations, all with flexible texture; and a six-voice mass based on "Euge bone," perhaps a parody of a lost antiphon.

From the first millennium of the Common Era various texts from the Mass have been sung, first as plainchant (for instance Gregorian chant, Ambrosian, Mozarabic, and so on), then followed by motet texts in the second millennium to the very earliest polyphonic music that survives (the motets of Magister Leoninus and Perotinus).
The first composer to compose an entire cyclic mass setting, was the great Burgundian composer Guillaume de Machaut, writing in the middle 1300s.
CPDL also has a number of masses set in the vernacular language of various countries: the majority of these being German, English, Spanish and Italian.

Suppose one of the masses is suddenly released so it moves out to the end of its spoke, where it is stopped by some restraint or catch.
Since the wheel's motion is cyclic, and the motion of the mass is cyclic, the work done on the mass by gravity as the mass moves down is of equal size to the work it does against gravity moving back up.

 Cooling/Bunching Ion Trap
The cyclic precision mass measurement time period introduces the need for a device to accumulate ions until the precision trap is ready to accept the next bunch.
Efficiency dictates that a method must be in place to ensure that the ions produced during the closed portion of the mass measurement cycle can be contained until such a time that the precision trap is ready for the next injection sequence.
The ejection process involves a "push-pull" confuration of voltage pulses coupled to both endcaps and the cooled/collected ions leave as a bunch (fig D).

Dufay's large musical output contains masterpieces in every genre from cyclic masses to isorhytmic motets, a piece where a specific rhythmic and pitch patterns are repeated throughout the piece, to simply ornamented hymns and dramatic cycles.
Important new techniques emerge only in his later masses and a few of his last motets; otherwise he was content to create works within the frameworks of style and form that dominated the period.
He cannot be thought of as one of the great innovators in the history of music; 'originality' in the Romantic and modern sense of the word was foreign to him.
