Dimethyl hydantoin bonding agents in solid propellants - Patent 4214928
The composition of claim 2, wherein the oxidizer is selected from the group consisting of cyclotetramethylene tetranitramine and cyclotrimethylene trinitramine.
However, at present no bonding agents are known which work with cyclotetramethylene tetranitramine and cyclotrimethylene trinitramine systems.
Cyclotrimethylene trinitramine (RDX) and cyclotetramethylene tetranitramine (HMX) are strongly bound in binders using hydantoin bonding agent.

Thermal Decomposition of Solid Cyclotrimethylene Trinitramine   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-09)
In this paper, we show how a traditional solid-state chemistry approach, applied to the essentially molecular problem of the energetic barrier for decomposition, gives qualitatively new results and, in fact, brings very new perspectives in the detonation initiation theory development at large.
Quantum-chemical simulations of the thermal decomposition of solid cyclotrimethylene trinitramine (RDX) by means of the Hartree-Fock method combined with the cluster and periodic models are performed.
We found that the dissociation of the RDX molecule in the bulk crystal is characterized by the different energetic barriers for cleavage of N-NO bonds, unlike the gas-phase molecule, where all three of the energies are equal.

 Safeguarding ports with chemical profiling
The probability of detecting explosives from the odors in a cargo container depends on the container’s temperature, the vapor pressure of the explosive chemicals, and how they are packaged.
Plastic explosive C4 is identified by its chemical odor profile (a), virtual sensor array response (b), and olfactory image (c).
The peak (no. 7 in a) for high-molecular-weight cyclotrimethylene trinitramine (RDX) is more difficult to detect than the taggant (peak 1).

CNN - Hearing today for Algerian believed tied to bomb-smuggling plot - January 5, 2000
Charging Tizegha with INS violations would allow authorities to keep him in custody as they investigate whether he had any role in a potential terrorist bombing plot or a connection to Ressam, law enforcement officials said.
Ressam has pleaded innocent to five charges related to bomb-making, including attempting to smuggle highly explosive cyclotrimethylene trinitramine into the United States.
Arrest warrants have been issued in the United States and Canada for Abdel Majid Dahoumane, who is believed to have stayed with Ressam at a motel in Vancouver, British Columbia, before Ressam was arrested and may have been a passenger in the car carrying the explosives.

Southpaw: It All Goes Boom, Right?
What the hell, they all end in "X" and they both go boom.
But here's the problem with that: RDX (Cyclotrimethylene trinitramine) is plastic explosive with it's roots in 1890's Germany that forms the base for several common military explosives.
HMX (High Molecular weight rdX), on the other hand, is the military's most powerful non-nuclear explosive, and is the stuff that can be used to detonate a nuclear bomb.
