My grandmother was born in the year 1901 and I remember her telling me that when she was a little girl, her family's Christmas tree had only decorations from nature: pieces of apples or pears or dried plums, some nuts and just very simple paper decorations which people usually made themselves.
But in the Czech Republic many people return to ancient traditions and decorate their trees in the 'old Czech Christmas' style, although with slight differences: slices of apples or oranges mixed with simple decorations made of straw or other natural materials.
The Czech folk-rock group Cechomor have just brought out a new live album, simply called "Cechomor Live" and the release caps a very successful year for the group.

We are actually sceptics even when it is not necessary but apparently the situation is changing and due to the mass media especially electronic media and television people are now gullible to a very great extent.
Well, imagine my surprise when I learnt that Radiozurnal Chanel 1 of Czech Public Radio was the proud winner of the bronze Stray Boulder in the group prize category.
He was the only winner to absent himself -and the sceptics insisted that his mock candidacy for Czech president some time ago had nothing to do with his merit in promoting gobbledegook.

Praga proclaimed the recording to be a Czech Radio broadcast from 1985.
First, Praga credit this to David Oistrakh with Mravinsky leading the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in a live recording from May 1957, but there is no applause afterwards, even though the track plays long enough after the final note for its reverb to die away fully.
