The Czech Technical University in Prague is one of several institutions in Central Europe with which the IICER has a formal Agreement of Cooperation.
With financial support from the IICER, Katarina Uvirova from the Czech Technical University in Prague spent the 1998 Fall semester at the Florida State University in the nuclear chemistry laboratory of Professor Gregory Choppin.
Uvirova (now Dr. Uvirova) is shown at work in her laboratory at the Czech Technical University in Prague where her research was directed by Professor Ferdinand Sebesta.

After the disintegration of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the name of the school was changed in 1920 to the Czech Technical University in Prague, which united seven schools, including the School of Chemical Technology, the School of Agriculture and Forestry, and the School of Business.
Universities were closed for six years and by the economically stagnating communist regime (1948-1989) accompanied by the political oppression.
In the course of the last half century, the Czech Technical University in Prague has undergone several reorganisation: the faculty of economic sciences was closed after 1948, and the faculty of chemical technology and the faculty of agriculture became independent in 1952.

He was inaugurated as Rector of CU in Prague, Czech Rep. on the 1st of February 2000 for a three-year term and in 2003 for a second three-year term.
Joining the Faculty of Technical and Nuclear Physics at the Czech Technical University in 1964 just after his graduation, he supervised student practical work in General and Nuclear Physics, led seminars in lecture sources on the Physics of the Nucleus, and lectured in Neutron Physics.
