ireacht : The name of the cabinet or ministry in the Dil Constitution passed by the First Dil of the Irish Republic in January 1919.
The Promh ire was upgraded to President of the Republic (ie, full head of state) by a constitutional amendment proposed by Eamon de Valera and adopted by Dil ireann in August 1921.
The ireacht and the entire republican system of government was replaced by the Irish Free State in 1922.
