The d20 System is the game engine used in Wizards of the Coast's hobby gaming roleplaying games.
The d20 System was used as the root of the System Reference Document (SRD), an abstract version of the rules and nonrule content of the various d20 System roleplaying games from Wizards.

  WFRP d20...
One thing that the d20 system does have is a leveled system where benefits are distributed upon reaching a certain plateau at which at once all the benefits of experience are rewarded upon attainment.
This does differ from the WFRP system which is a gradual increase of experience, but the effect is much the same - over time in both systems characters may change careers/classes, learn skills, increase in their ability to sustain damage, increase attributes/profile stats and open access to new professions and experiences.
D20 is a fluid and open system open to various possibilities and recently in the d20 conversion notes for Godlike by Mike Mearls even the d20 combat system is turned into a skill based system for players to invest in rather than a level dependent system.

 Starting Occupations in BESM D20
In terms of the d20 system, a Starting Occupation gives the character a set of permanent class skills, perhaps a bonus feat or reputation bonus, as well as a modifier to the character's starting wealth bonus.
Since the use of Starting Occupations presumes the use of the wealth system used in d20 Modern, it is highly recommended that the Wealth attribute used in BESM d20 be dropped from the campaign as it can be quite unbalancing when used in conjunction with d20 Modern's system.

Detractors of DandD and the d20 system view Wizards of the Coast as an evil company out to destroy all their competitors.
Due principally to the career and class systems of WFRP and DandD3e respectively, I believe that this firmly suggests that the d20 system could reasonably simulate, replicate, or evoke the WFRP system.

Wizards Of The Coast Changes The D20 System Trademark License :: GamingReport.com :: Where Gamers get their News
In my opinion, the current version of the d20 STL is not a license I would be comfortable using in a commercial work unless I was able to secure a release from Wizards prior to publication exempting me from the content clauses.
By altering the risk equation that must be considered by each party to the D20 System Trademark License in such a manner, in my opinion, it may now be more risky for a publisher to publish with the D20STL than without it.
I specifically dealt with an issue re: the d20 STL and the 'option' to use the phrase "Requires the use of the Third Edition Players' Handbook by Wizards of the Coast".

Urbis - A World of Cities
There are plenty of things to do in the cities, from hunting monsters in the sewers, getting caught up in struggles between crime families, fighting for social justice for the downtrodden masses, to high-stakes games of dimplomacy and intrigues between the rich and powerful of the cities.
While most d20 fantasy worlds draw their inspiration from the Feudal Age or Renaissance of our world - or even earlier periods - Urbis is heavily inspired by the time of the European Industrial revolution - the time when cities came into their own.
On one hand, Urbis introduces some fairly novel concepts (such as the nexus towers) and also tries to rigorously examine the effects of these and of standard d20 magic on society, which in many cases produces a rather alien culture compared to either real-world societies or the "standard" fantasy worlds published for the d20 system.

Alternate D6-D20 conversion system   (Site not responding. Last check: )
The basics are the same-converting dice codes to D20 numbers-but this takes a different route to arrive at what may feel like a more "playable" character.
Because three of these are specifically starship skills (which equate to the various Starship Operation feats in the D20 system), the character subtracts 4 from his Pilot skill total for each of them, reducing his Pilot skill total down to +24.
After you've converted the D6 character into D20 terms, the next steps are fairly simple: just fill in the numbers according to the species, class, level, and abilities the converted character has.

RPGnet: Review of Rifts vs. D20 Modern (the D20 System)
D20 Modern is much better than Dungeons and Dragon's, 3rd Edition, as it handles things differently in the modern world.
In the D20 System, although monster characters may have an advantage over the normal person, the difference between the Palladium System and the D20 System is that the normal person has a chance to defeat a dragon in less than 10 rounds.
The magic system in Rifts is a little better than the D20 System; but it only works for books.
