	DC3 Nathan Bruckenthal's Oral History
		DC3 Nathan Bruckenthal, USCG, was killed in action at the Khawr Al Amay Oil Terminal off the coast of Iraq on 24 April 2004.
		DC3 Bruckenthal: We were, I believe at the mouth of KAA [Kwahr 'Abd Allah] River.
		DC3 Bruckenthal: It was sandy; pretty deserted; a lot of Marines; a lot of coalition forces were there but you could tell it was deserted.

		DC3 is an associate member of Christians in Sport and has a purpose built sports hall for reaching out on the whole sports side to the community, we also partner with the Special Olympics and Care trust to work with people with learning difficulties.
		DC3 sports features - Aerobics, circuit training, football training schools, carpet bowls, badminton, Volleyball, basketball and even indoor rock climbing, these activities are a way of providing much needed community activity and reaching out to people in positive and healthy way.
		DC3 has a relaxing multi use Lounge with music, TV and pool, a fully equipped kitchen area and a 24 hour prayer room, plus the main office and play school and crèche facilities.

	DC3 History
		The first military derivative of the DC3 was a single C41 delivered to the US Army Corps in October 1938 for use as a staff transport.
		To make the DC3 passenger transport into the C47 cargo plane, Douglas designed modifications that included a large double cargo door with an integral passenger door, a beefed up floor with tie down fittings, folding bench type seating along the sides, a navigational astrodome aft of the flight compartment and stronger landing gear.
		The DC3 was popular for many reasons: she was larger, faster and more luxurious than previous planes, more economical to operate and safe.

	General Montgomery's wartime C47 (DC3) - The legend lives on.
		The C47 (DC3), with the name of Larry Blackman attached, is perched on display outside the Air Niugini Head Office at Jackson's airport, Port Moresby.
		The plane became one of the Air Niugini fleet in 1973 after the formation of the airline and, in 1976, was registered P2-ANQ.
		The DC3 registered as P2-ANQ flew many thousands of hours in PNG providing safe, reliable and comfortable executive type transport for many passengers who flew in her.

		It seems odd that the DC3 would be a 2 tone, since usually the Dreamers have their own unique color.
		While the DC3 may look like a 2 tone GT with the chrome package (not even sure if thats available) its actually midnite blue over silver and the window tint is also blue and it has a gorgeous 2 tone leather.
		I took a 5 speed DC3 for an overnite test drive because the salesman insisted (I just wanted to get the $50 debit card) and he was shocked when I brought it back.
