The third, Ingraham (DD-694), was an Allen M. Sumner-class destroyer, launched in 1944 and struck in 1971.
She was transferred to Greece where she was recommissioned as HS Miaoulis; she was struck in 1992 and sunk as a target in 2001.
The fourth, Ingraham (FFG-61), was an Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate, launched in 1988.

USS INGRAHAM was the third destroyer to be named for Capt. Duncan Nathaniel Ingraham, whose years of distinguished service in the Navy prior to the Civil War earned him a medal and the thanks of Congress.
INGRAHAM had another opportunity to practice her anti-shipping techniques when she was assigned to a fast carrier task force cruising off the Japanese "home islands".
INGRAHAM was refreshed and modernized with a FRAM I modification at Norfolk Navy Yard, beginning in December 1961.

The DD-694 was the third Ingraham, our ship did her part in WWII amd earned the Navy Unit Citation for actions off Okinawa and four Battle Stars for her service.

Captain Ingraham, while commanding the sloop St. Louis in the Mediterranean Squadron in July 1852, interfered with the Austrian consul's detention of Martin Kosztca, a Hungarian who had declared in New York his intention of becoming an American citizen.
The second INGRAHAM (DD 444) was commissioned on 17 July 1941, and served as a convoy escort between the United States and the United Kingdom.
The third INGRAHAM (DD 694) was commissioned on 16 January 1944, and had a long distinguished career, earning battle stars and awards for its efforts at Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and the Lingayen Gulf.

The SEAMAN which was never completed, lost her bow to fix the COLLETT (DD-730) which was damaged in a collision with AMMEN (DD- 557) in Aug. 1960; killing 11 of AMMEN's crew.

Fighting gallantly despite sustained bombing runs of the enemy, she destroyed six hostile planes and assisted in downing three others before one of five coordinating suicide planes crushed her deck with a terrific explosion which ripped a thirty-foot hole in her port side.
Settling rapidly, with all power to the forward mounts lost, she continued to give battle to enemy planes by firing Mount Three in local control, while repair parties localized the flooding, shored up strategic places and jettisoned all possible topside weight, thereby keeping her afloat.
All personnel attached to and serving on board the U.S.S. INGRAHAM on May 4, 1945, are authorized to wear the NAVY UNIT COMMENDATION Ribbon.

Andrew had searched for years to find a record of the destroyer USS Ingraham, which had fished him out of the ocean on October 26, 1944, after his Hellcat Fighter crashed into the water.
The Ingraham crew, Andrew said, delayed sending him back to the Yorktown until the reward was promised.
Coincidentally, the USS Yorktown and the USS INGRAHAM DD 694 came together again during the 1969 North Atlantic NATO cruise.

Between 17 and 19 March, she joined Beale (DD-471), Daly (DD-519), Hutchins (DD- 476) and Mullany (DD-528) in a fruitless anti shipping sweep along the coast of New Guinea near enemy-held Wewak.
Not long before noon on the 1st, Ammen, relieved by Ingraham (DD-694), headed for Hagushi anchorage to receive on board a fighter director team along with its equipment.
After refueling and replenishing at Kerama Retto the destroyer headed for radar picket station 9 during the evening of 3 May. She remained on station until the 9th, directing combat air patrol (CAP) fighters out to meet sporadic raids of one, two, and three planes.

 Mediterranean/Persian Gulf 1960-61
Included in the Division were Sumner, USS Moale (DD-693), USS Ingraham (DD-694) and USS Bigelow (DD-942), they were joined later by other units of Squadron 16; USS Sperry (DD-697) and USS Zellars (DD-777).
The crossing complete, she entered Rota, Spain on 3 October where she joined the Sixth Fleet and after refueling got underway for Genoa, Italy as escort for the USS Saratoga (CVA-60).
She moored in Bahrain on the 31st where she again teamed up with the USS Ingraham.

Reporting aboard the USS Ingraham DD 694 he served as Operations Officer until December 1959, when he reported aboard the USS Topeka CLG 8 as CIC Officer.
During this tour of duty he attended George Washington University where he recieved his Master of Arts degree in Personnel Administration.
On Dec. 4 1964, LCDR Sikes reported aboard the USS New DD 818 as Executive Officer and Navigator.

On the following day, the destroyer departed Mindoro to return to Leyte where she arrived on the 18th.

The FRAM program consisted of two levels of modernization; the more extensive FRAM I reconstruction and the somewhat less extensive FRAM II modernization.
The FRAM I program involved installation of both the ASROC and DASH systems on Destroyers (DD) and Destroyer Escorts (DE).
The FRAM II program was developed primarily for the Sumners class of Destroyers, which had insufficient hull length amidships to accommodate the ASROC system.
