USS Perkins (DD-877) was a Gearing-class destroyer in the United States Navy.
Perkins was laid down by the Consolidated Steel Corporation at Orange, Texas on 19 June 1944, launched on 7 December 1944 by Mrs.
USS Perkins was decommissioned and stricken from the Naval Vessel Register on 15 January 1973, transferred to Argentina and renamed Comodoro Py.

The third Perkins (DD-877) was laid down 19 June 1944 by the Consolidated Steel Corp., Ltd. Orange, Tex.; launched 7 December 1944; sponsored by Mrs.
Perkins returned to California in October and in January 1948 sailed to the Marshalls for the atomic test series operation "Sandstone".
After that deployment Perkins continued to rotate between duty with the 7th Fleet in the western pacific and operations with the 1st Fleet off the west coast.

In mid-1950 Perkins made a cruise in the central Pacific and executed Korean War aircraft carrier escort and shore bombardment missions in February-September 1951.
Between March and December 1962 Perkins was converted to FRAM II configuration, trading her special radar picket gear and three-inch guns for anti-submarine torpedo tubes and the capability of operating drone anti-submarine helicopters (DASH).
USS Perkins was decommissioned in mid-January 1973 and transferred to Argentina.

USS Perkins (DD-877), built at the height of the Second World War in Orange, Texas, began her working life with the fleet as a radar picket destroyer in July, 1945.
USS Perkins is a long hull, 2200-ton class destroyer with an overall length of 390 feet and a beam of forty-one feet.
It was during this landing that Perkins received her true baptism of fire; an enemy shell blasted 125 holes in her superstructure and injured seventeen men.

Eight days after WILTSIE and THEODORE E. (DD 717) had destroyed a train near Tanchon on 3 June, communist shore batteries took WILTSIE under fire off Wonsan, lobbing 45 105-millimeter shells in her direction, scoring a hit on the destroyer's fantail.
After being relieved by DE HAVEN (DD 727) and REEVES (DLG 24), KING sailed to Subic Bay and WILTSIE to Hong Kong before she, too, headed for Subic Bay, where she arrived on the 23d.
Departing there on 22 February in company with BUCK and KING, WILTSIE and her consorts made a fuel stop at Darwin and visited Brisbane from 2 to 7 March before proceeding on to the west coast of the United States.
