Record Labels and Companies: Interview with DreamWorks Records A&R Head Luke Wood
That was a big break, because I had been sending tapes to record companies at that point for quite some time.
It was at the same time that DGC Records was starting to sign bands like Sonic Youth, Teenage Fanclub, and Nirvana.

His next album, "Mutations" is tentatively scheduled to be released on Oct. 20 on DGC Records, instead of the indie label Bongload, which helped launch the artist's career with the release of his mega-hit "Loser."
However, a DGC spokesperson agrees that the confusion came about because when Beck decided to put out this album -- which is less sample-driven than his major label releases -- he didn't want it to be considered as the follow-up to "Odelay." Therefore, it was thought that "Mutations" should, in fact, be released by Bongload.
As for the official follow-up to "Odelay," it is currently in the writing stages at this time and will be out early to mid-1999 on DGC Records.
