		Using a DI box with a very high input impedance to prevent the loss of bass in the first place, is much better than trying to patch it up later.
		A D.I. box should provide a high input impedance for connection to a signal source, and a low output impedance for connection to the microphone input of a mixing desk.
		D.I. boxes have an earth lift switch to allow the input and output earths of the D.I. box to be disconnected, so that earth loops can be broken.

		I opened the DI to see if there was anything I could do, but the jacks are sealed (and soldered to a PCB.) What opening the box revealed, though, was that you would probably have to subject the box to a rather nasty impact to actually damage the electronics.
		This is a great addition to a live sound engineer's arsenal, although it doesn't inspire the same "it's nuke-proof" response as more heavily built DI boxes might.
		These DI's are quite nice, only seeming to have one sonic weakness, and that is the cabinet simulation causing a fair amount of hiss.

		I'm looking for a decent DI box to plug my bass into.
		I am not a bass player, but use the bass guitar just to put some basic ideas/bass lines down....I haven't worked with DI boxes too much either, so any recommendation is much appreciated.
		Unfotunatelly, I wasn't able to find any of the recommended DIs in any of Aussie online stores...all I came accross was Behringer...it seems it is dirt cheap $75 for ana active box (about $40 US), but I'm thinking of trying it out, maybe it could do the job for now....
