		The future DJ Cam's first contact with the world of music was not headphones and turntables but the piano, which he began learning at the tender age of 8.
		DJ Cam's avant-garde vibes went on to prove a veritable hit on the Japanese dance scene and the French DJ was soon greatly in demand in the studio.
		DJ Cam is renowned for his exploration of different musical sources and in 2001 he paid homage to the late great jazz masters, reworking the Miles Davis classic "In a Silent Way" on "Panthalassa", a tribute album masterminded by Bill Laswell.

		St Germain and DJ Cam are by several million miles.
		Like St Germain, Cam has his roots very much set in the jazz world but his speciality is in jazzy hip-hop, or dub hop or whatever you want to call it.
		There are cool drum breaks and cool dub bass lines all over this CD but as I'm not an avid fan of hip hop I can't really tell you which ones are sampled and which ones aren't, all I can say is that I recognise some of them but not others.
