	DJ Quik - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		DJ Quik (born David Martin Blake on January 18, 1970) is a West Coast rapper and record producer from Compton, California.
		Quik faced personal and professional tragedy when his close friend and protegé Mausberg was murdered on the 4th of July, 2000.

		As an avid Quik fan the first thing I noticed about "Trauma" is the number of features from people outside of his regular little clique (Suga Free, Mauseburg (who has passed but you know with hip-hop people can get on tracks as we are still hearing new music from B.I.G.), Second II None, El Debarge).
		Quik's lyrics though make one reflect, especially the line, "My best friend is dead, my heart is a stone." Quik has gone through a lot of stuff as far as dealing with the loss of friends to the streets and one can assume failed relationships based on his lyrics.
		I gotta admit I thought DJ Quik was done after his last album Under The Influence but he is back with Trauma.

	Trauma by Dj Quik CD
		Never flashy, Quik finds art in simplicity, as with the laid-back groove of "Black Mercedes," and the rapid-fire spitting about relationships and distractions on "Catch 22."
		This really wasn't my type of CD but I'm giving it 4 stars only because Quik is one of the two rappers out today that I know of that actually use real instruments instead of just hitting notes on a keyboard.
		While Trauma has it's moments, I can't say that this is the best music I have heard from Quik.
