| | DMA - Design, Make & Appraise |
 | | While for many teachers it is easy to have children design and make something, or make something from a given design, the most important process, one that is often neglected, is the appraisal of what has actually been constructed. |
 | | The process approach of design, make and appraise is an area that I had probably seen in practice before but had never really taken much notice of. |
 | | Therefore, it is important to find out what knowledge children have at the beginning of their school life or prior to commencing a unit of work and to introduce the process of design, make and appraise as early as possible (Fleer and Jane, 1999). |
