		DRDO in its endeavour to promote advanced research leading to seeding of new technologies in academic institutions has been interacting with many Universities in the country.
		The MOU envisaged closer interaction between DRDO Scientists and the faculty from BU to promote joint research in specific scientific and technological areas of interest to DRDO and to facilitate DRDO labs in conducting academic programmes.
		The Center shall be operated by the Director, Faculty of BU, additional faculty (to be appointed for the various activities of the Center), visiting scientists, adjunct faculty (scientists deputed to the Center by DRDO), core staff of technicians and other supporting staff, and temporarily appointed research scholars.

		Two other aspirants - General Electric and its trans- Atlantic rival Rolls Royce - were understood to have not met certain criteria for the tie-up, leaving Snecma, NPO Saturn and Canadian firm Pratt and Whitney in the race for the defence contract valued between $ 1.2-2.4 billion.

		What the CBI and DRDO don’t say is that the Trishul was not ready then, not now.
		The DRDO, however, said today that “All development work on Trishul has been completed and the project closure is underway.” But even if user trials take place and succeed, it’s still too little, too late for all three armed forces.
