I'd think it should be obvious that it not be used for games, it wouldn't even have all that many produced for it; if any at all (Just like the few games that used the power glove, the 32X or any other optional device that wasn't shipped with its system).
If a game is costing more and more to make because it has to look shiny, it subsequently costs more while not necesarily being better or any longer then a less graphically pollished game.
HD DVD will win because when hillbillies go to a store to buy their new HD tv set and DVD player(in a few years when you can't buy regular sets anymore), they want a DVD player that works with the HD TV set.

The only parts of Shenmu 2 that came even close to the first game was the final disk which developed a good relationship and introduced a good character, but it was only about 10-15 minutes long.
That is not an immerse, living breathing world, that is a game designed to appeal to more people and stuff what the original artistic intentions were.
