The four American beauties who are falsely arrested are shown treated very nicely in Greece, where they were formerly vacationing (or maybe they were vacationing there, and the villainous Turks somehow got their hands on them, but the message is clear: Greece=Good, Turkey=Bad), and to top it off, the Turks in the film reportedly speak...
I forgot the name of the film, but an Armenian character was the hero cop’s sidekick in one run-of-the-mill police drama … and of course, the writer stuck in a line where the Armenian alluded to the suffering of his people.

Apollo Movie Guide's Review of Billboard Dad
The Olsens were only 12 at the time this film was made, and while they had the potential to some day be fine actors, in Billboard Dad, their lack of skill is dealt with primarily by surrounding them with mediocre actors whose performances don’t show up Ashley and Mary-Kate.
After sorting his way through the losers who respond, their dear old dad (Tom Amandes) finds the woman of his dreams, only to lose her when his manipulative agent (dad is a rich and famous artist) breaks them up to further his own nefarious plans.
Billboard Dad is competently put together, but it really belongs with Ashley and Mary-Kate’s other work — on commercial television.

Tommy Tricker and the Stamp Traveller
The film really is about Ralph (Lucas Evans), a shy kid and member of the stamp club who is interested making some trades, because his dad is an avid stamp collector, and he wants to be a part of the action.
Tommy picks up on this, and in a pivotal scene, comes over to Ralph's house and talks him into trading a single valuable stamp from his dad's collection for what is supposed to be an equally valuable set of stamps.
Director of Photography Andreas Poulsson deserves credit for his approach to the cinemaphotography of the film, which continually shows us chucks shots in almost every scene.

LOST FILMS, 70's SPLATTER, RARE FILM NOIR, RELIGIOUS SCARE FILMS
Filmed in quasi-documentary fashion, the story chronicles the melancholy tale of rebellious, 17-year-old girl (Katy Kurtzman), who, in defiance of her dad’s (played by favorite TV dad Dick Van Patten) wishes, hangs out with a group of teenagers who enjoy thumbing rides for kicks.
With this seemingly blasphemous take on the crime film, 99 and 44/100% Dead expands the genre to a kind of adolescent art film, a clear and pure distillation of the possible mind state of the murderer.
Mickey Rooney stars in this pantheon of bizarro lost films as B.J. Lang, an insane, washed up stage actor who kidnaps an innocent woman, holds her hostage in an old abandoned theatre house and proceeds to put on the most whacked out, LSD inspired performance you will ever see.

He chucked a three-picture Hollywood deal to make a film, with his own money (and some sacrifice to his health) -- an X-rated effort about a righteous brother on the run from The Man. It was made with non-actors and friends working for free, and an unknown soundtrack band called Earth, Wind & Fire.

Baltimore City Paper: FILM Peeping Tom
But then a comely lodger named Vivian (Moira Shearer) befriends him, and he shares the motivation for his psychosis and his filmmaking: His scientist father (played by director Michael Powell in a series of film-within-a-film clips) recorded every second of Mark's life--including some special moments, like when Dad dropped a lizard on the sleeping boy.
Mordantly witty ("All this filming is unhealthy!" opines Vivian's blind mother) and incredibly tender, Peeping Tom is a passionate investigation into the deal we all strike with our fantasies as we hunker down in a dark room for some "entertainment." Critics were somewhat displeased by Powell's trashing of the traditional roles of filmmaker and viewer.
He's also shooting a 16mm film highlighted by moments when he whips out his knife-tipped tripod and stabs young women.

Baltimore City Paper: FILM Little Nicky
Only their nimrod brother, Nicky, armed only with a magic flask, can save his dad and the world from the evil sons and Quentin Tarantino's recurring cameo as a chatty blind preacher (!).
The story: When Satan (Harvey Keitel!) decides not to turn over hell to the next generation, two of his sons--Adrian (Rhys Ifans) and Cassius (Tommy "Tiny" Lister Jr.)--zip up to Earth, thereby disrupting the natural order of things and threatening Dad's rule.
Meaning, there are so many neat-o effects, fab-o supporting actors, and such an excellent talking dog that there are entire stretches of the movie during which Sandler--playing Nicky, Satan's stupid, hunchbacked son--is either not present or, because of a demonic speech impediment, can't be understood.

 American Beauty: Cinephiles Movie Review
American Beauty, directed by British theater director Sam Mendes (Cabaret, The Blue Room) and written by Alan Ball, is a film which focuses on a suburban-American family, portraying its characters' dysfunctional relationships as a direct symptom of their dissenting conceptions of beauty.
As its title implies, the film begs the question "What is American beauty?" and without providing a concrete answer, it explores the endemic problems haunting many contemporary families: consumerism, unemployment, drugs, peer pressure, loneliness, discrimination and violence.
Having revealed the fatal outcome, what follows is a brief view of the final days of Lester's frustrated life; of his wife Carolyn's (Annette Bening) systematic belittling of him and all things associated with him; and of their daughter's (Thora Birch) overpowering contempt towards both of them.

 :: American Beauty
The script's sudden risk-shyness infects the characters so, that by the end of the film, all they can do is feel satisfied with each other.
A beautiful film that centers around a dysfunctional American family.
The Burnham family joins the cinematic short list of great dysfunctional American families, as Lester is pitted against his manic, materialistic realtor wife, Carolyn (Annette Bening, making the most of a mostly unsympathetic role) and his sullen, contemptuous teenaged daughter, Jane (Thora Birch, utterly convincing in her edgy balance of self-absorption and wistful longing).

 Filmtracks: Dad (James Horner)
The opening bars of "Taking Dad Home" feature perhaps the most explosive outburst of emotion, as heard during a pivotal sequence in the film during which Lemmon's character is literally carried out a hospital by his son (Ted Danson) with Hollywood flair (a moment that ruined the film for some critics, it might be added).
Dad : (James Horner) A story about the self-discovery of an average, modern American family, Dad is another lesson on how to and how not to take care of your parents once they reach the age of senility.
In the opening tracks, as well as "Dad," Horner's title theme is accompanied by light rock elements, and in the latter track, Jay Gruska's arrangement of Horner's material allows the sax to carry the tune to much of the same degree as Goldsmith's Forever Young.
