David Stuart Havard known as Dai Havard (born February 7, 1950, Quaker's Yard, Merthyr Tydfil) is a Welsh politician, and Labour Party member of Parliament for Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney.
Dai Havard was elected MP for Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney in June 2001.
Dai has also accepted honorary positions with the Merthyr Angling Association and the Dowlais Chrysanthemum Society, is a Patron of both Merthyr and Treharris Mini and Junior Rugby clubs and is a supporter of the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, which is based in Merthyr.

It comes as Welsh Labour MP Dai Havard challenged the government to explain why other troops from the Black Watch would be redeployed in central Iraq.
On Thursday, Mr Havard, a Welsh member of the defence select committee, challenged the government to explain why the forces needed to move.
Mr Havard, the MP for Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney, told Mr Hoon in the Commons that he had to understand that there was a lack of confidence that the British troops would be able to minimise casualties while carrying out a role decided by the Americans.
