The Daily Planet Publishing Co., Inc., is described as having been established in 1870 in one text (Act No. 194, Jul 1954: “The Outlaws from Krypton!”) and as having been established in 1887 in another (WF No. 68, Jan/Feb 1954: “The Menace from the Stars!”).
In May-June 1942 the Daily Planet Building and all its occupants are transported to the fourth dimension by the evil Mister Sinister, but Superman ultimately defeats the villain and restores the “kidnapped’ building to the earthly dimension (S No. 16/3: “Case of the Runaway Skyscrapers”).
In February 1953 the Daily Planet Building is smashed in two by a diabolical “flying wrecking crane” employed by the “General,” but Superman evacuates the building before anyone is injured, transporting its equipment and personnel to a safe location until he has had time to repair the damage (Act No. 177: “The Anti-Superman Weapon”).

Daily Planet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Daily Planet is based in Metropolis and employs Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen; its chief editor is Perry White.
When DC made use of its multiverse means of continuity tracking between the early 1960s and mid-1980s, it was declared that the Daily Star was the workplace of the Golden Age or "Earth-Two" versions of Clark Kent, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen, while the Daily Planet was unique to their Silver Age or "Earth-One" versions.
During the "Y2K" storyline (involving the city of Metropolis being infused with futuristic technology thanks to a descendant of the villain Brainiac), the Daily Planet building was "upgraded" along with the rest of Metropolis, and a holographic globe replaced the physical one.
