Dalhousie College was founded in 1818 by George Ramsay, 9th Earl of Dalhousie, the Lieutenant-Governor of Nova Scotia.
Dalhousie expanded its presence in south-end Halifax during the 1960s and 1970s when it built the Dalplex athletic facility, the Killam Library, the Life Sciences Centre, the Dalhousie Student Union building and a district heating plant, all on what is referred to as the Studley Campus (the main campus).
Dalhousie's colours of fl and gold came from the jerseys worn by the Dalhousie University Rugby Football Club (who still wear those colours, as well as the school crest on their jerseys).

Canada is obligated under international law to support the call for a commitment from the nuclear weapons states to the elimination of their nuclear weapons.
"...the threat or use of nuclear weapons would generally be contrary to the rules of international law applicable in armed conflict, and in particular the principles and rules of humanitarian law".
Apart from the illegality of threat of use of the weapon itself, there may be further breaches of international law occurring.

As a result of her excellent high school performance, Patti was recommended by the staff of John Bapst for, and then inducted into, the National Honours Society.
Then, in early 1995, she signed a two-year contract with the University to teach Public Law on a full-time basis, thus becoming the law school's first teacher of Mi'kmaq ancestry.
