Legal counsel for the seminary includes an attorney who won the right to home school in the State of Texas [they used to arrest home schoolers in Texas with armed police squads in the middle of the night, taking the children away], and a former Texas Supreme Court judge.
Many believe that accreditation by the ATS (dating from the early 70's) was one of several contributing factors that caused the theological shift at Dallas Theological Seminary, including "Progressive Dispensationalism" (which Miles Stanford wrote about) and more recently, the "Openness View of God".
One student who is transferring to Tyndale from Southwestern Seminary (which is accredited) says that only 5 of the approximately 70 instructors at Southwestern believe in biblical inspiration in any conservative sense.

 APOSTASY AT DALLAS THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY
Professor Daniel Wallace, Associate Professor of New Testament Studies, Dallas Theological Seminary, wrote an article on his web site in 1997 entitled "Mark 1:2 and New Testament Textual Criticism." He defends the erroneous "mistake" that Mark attributed the citations from Mal.
It was invented in the 19th century by theological liberals and Unitarians; and to this very day the chief fathers of it continue to be the Bruce Metzgers and Kurt Alands and Carlo Martinis, men who deny the infallible inspiration of Holy Scripture.
We thank the Lord for men like Dr. Strouse and for institutions like the Emmanuel Baptist Theological Seminary that stand in the old paths and that approach the Bible strictly on the basis of faith and that do not bow the knee to the "science falsely so called" of modern textual criticism.

While I was in Wilmore, Kentucky at Asbury Theological Seminary working as a student webmaster, was when I first started talking to John Dyer, who is a web developer at Dallas Theological Seminary.
At the time, he was developing an alumni tracker using the Google Maps API, to show where their graduates had gone off to serve in various ministerial capacities.
Fortunately, I wasn’t in KY very much longer, but I remember thinking at the time: “Wow, this Dallas seminary really gets it,” because they were way beyond Asbury’s site.

Today, both of these institutions and their professors are far from the original theological and dispensational perspectives of Dr. Chafer.
