Dalneigh is an area in the Scottish city of Inverness.
In 1937, Inverness High School was opened in the east of Dalneigh and today is still the main secondary school for the area's children, although the school roll has declined from over one thousand in the 1950s to just under half that today.
Dalneigh Primary School is one of Inverness High's feeder primaries and is situated in central Dalneigh.

 Inverness Area Scout Council
As a result of a joint venture between 6th Inverness (Ness) Scout Group and the then Inverness Town Council, the building in Dalneigh was completed in June 1959 providing a good sized Scout hall and a health clinic.
During the years when there was no scouting there, Dalneigh Indoor Bowling Club used the premises and effectively kept the Scout part of the building in a basic running condition.
Eventually the Dalneigh Health Clinic was made redundant and the building lay vacant for some years, during which time it was badly vandalised.

Six pupils from Dalneigh and Central Primary Schools this week are the winners of a poster competition to promote a local campaign against the scourge of dog fouling.
Provost of the City of Inverness and Area, William Smith judged the competition and chose designs by Kirsty MacPhee, Corey Schultz and Robyn Weir in Dalneigh Primary; and Lorna MacLeod, Colin Bunce and Mairi Taylor in Central Primary.
Their winning anti-dog fouling poster designs will be displayed throughout the Ballifeary and Dalneigh areas to encourage dog owners not to let their pets roam free and to clean up after them.

The Pee Wee section for players aged 12 and under saw the Inverness Browns, Inverness Raptors, Dalneigh Colts and the Strathclyde Posse, competing for Scouper Bowl 1, this trophy was named after one of Scotland's finest sportsmen and probably the best American Football player to ever come out of Scotland, Scott "Scoups" Couper.
The next age category was the youth section for players aged 15 and under and featured two of Inverness's original flag teams the Inverness Blitz and the Inverness Stars, along with the defending Tartan Bowl Champions the Dundee Storm as well as the Strathclyde Posse they were competing for Tartan Bowl 2.
The Dalneigh Colts came out on top in the Pee Wee Section with Dundee capturing the Youth and Senior Sections.

Young people in Dalneigh, Inverness, are being invited to have their say on the kind of activities they would like to see on offer in their area in the future.
Pupils in Primary 5,6,7 and Secondary 1,2,3 are being invited to attend a Youth Activity Day on Thursday (5 December) between 1.30pm to 4 pm at the James Cameron Community Centre, where they will have the chance to take part in a series of workshops in music, art and dance.
This is the first in a series of activities funded by money from the Scottish Executive, to enhance youth facilities in the Dalneigh area and is one of six successful applications by Inverness Provost, Councillor William Smith, to help improve the Dalneigh area.

The Health Promoting Schools initiative in Highland is delivered in partnership between The Highland Council and NHS Highland through guidelines, and advice in the form of a Health Promoting Schools Toolkit which is adopted by each school

However, in 1958 the application was accepted and the small congregation of about sixty people, considerably in debt, became Greyfriars Free Church of Scotland.
